How much did you pay for your Thanksgiving Bird

Hmm, I didn't think of Craigslist. I'll have to check that out.
Like I said, I like to shop local, always have. But I need thirty pounds of turkey and I have to be able to afford it, I cannot spend what I don't have and then try to scramble for it later, even if it goes to someone who is more deserving than a corperation.

A friend of mine charges three dollars a pound, ranging from ten to 20 lbs Royal Palms.

I dont know if that is reasonable for that kind of dinner LOL!
 
My mom placed the order but we are splitting the cost. It will come from a local small farm where they raise turkeys free range and naturally. I can't remember the exact cost per lb but I think Mom said it will be aroud $50. They have some heritage breeds but this will be a broad breasted. I would have gone with the heritage myself even though it would have cost a little more. At any rate I know it will be worth the cost.
