I am considering going through the training and becoming and APA member, so that soon, I can become a poultry judge. I want to know, what is the average fee that judges charge per show?

Judges usually accept what shows can pay them. Shows are not in the business of making money and usually just cover the expenses of judges and awards. They will usually pay flight expenses if air travel is required but this would only be larger shows that have the income from entry fees that would be able to afford such. Generally, I would say $300 is an average days pay. Most judges judge because they enjoy the task and like to handle the birds, they are typically not in it for the money.

They don't make much. I use to judge local and surrounding counties livestock shows. Most of the time $25 to $50, the most I made was $75 :wootbut alot of them I judged for free. I was never asked to judge a "big" show, so can't say how much money a big show would pay for a judge.
