how much do you charge for your eggs?

I live in Nova Scotia. I sell my eggs for 2.50 a dozen no matter the size EXCEPT my bantam eggs I sell for 1.50, but i don't sell many of those so thats what my husband and I eat and I will give those to my mom and sister if i have extra.

All my eggs are free range and they are given no antibiotics or medications and our house is built in a small field and we have no lawn so all the grass is natural and organic. We do however feed our chickens left over veggies and fruits wich we buy from the store and we do not always buy organic so they may come into contact with some pesticieds there.

I would like to sell my eggs for a little more but in this area the going rate is $2.00-$2.75

I agree that the area you live in drives the price. However I am a believer in promoting your product too. All of us who enjoy fresh eggs know the wonderful difference in our eggs and the "store bought" variety. There are studies done that show the nutritional difference between chicken farm eggs and true free range eggs. That can be eye opening for many people. I know it helped me educate some of my collegues.
At our Farmer's Market we get 3.00 /doz. Checking out a neighboring Market we found eggs selling for 3.75/doz with Jumbo eggs at 4.50!

And HERE is where?

I live in central Oklahoma and free range eggs are between $3 and $4 a doz. While organic run $4 to $4.50.

Due to feed costs in Massachusetts, I am getting $4.00/doz. But, I only have 8 hens that lay between 4-7 eggs per day, not bad for 3-5 year olds and shell quality is still good. I do try to keep the freshest eggs for customers and the others for ourselves. Once my babies start laying I may drop the price to $3.50.

It amazes me how people just don't like the taste of fresh eggs. yes, I have been told this. To each his own I guess

I have been delivering to doctor offices ect, selling for $2.00 per dozen. I also donate to our local Manna house (food bank). they give me a receipt for tax write off. My friend sells hers for 2.50. Another gal gets 3.50. says they're organic, admits she feeds layena. ???!

most people around here sell brown free ranged eggs for 3 dollars a dozen.
there is one farm who is organic certified and they sell their brown free ranged ORGANIC eggs for 4.25 a dozen

I was at Walmart in high desert of California and they had eggs for $2.00 for dozen and a half, that is $1.35 a dozen. Can't get cheaper than that and in these hard times it would be difficult to charge much more. And Walmart is so convenient that people just buy them at the store.
