How much do your chickens love you?

No chickens yet...still 'bator bound for about 10 days...but when I'm doing my gardening outside, I'm followed by an entourage of 3 mute swans, 6 lavendar guineas, 2 dogs and 3 cats. I'll stop to do some weeding and they will all lie down peacefully together, watching every move I make (the swans run a constant commentary of grunts and chuckles...punctuated by guinea purrs). Heavenly!

It's funny, our 2 chickens go bananas when they hear us coming. No matter which family member it is (me, my husband, or either of our children) They are only about 9 weeks old, so I guess they might change as they get older. But as we approach the run, they flap and talk and even climb the screen door! Then when we get inside they like to fly onto our shoulder!
It would be nice if this would last - we feel very appreciated!

My chicken will run up to me and jump in my arms and then climbs up unto my shoulder and lays down. I have to do all of my chores with her on my shoulder and if I push her off. She will sneak attack me from behind. Its hilarious! Some people drive by our house and are like "Is that a chicken!" Its hilarious!!! I think this really shows how much a chicken can love you. I am pretty sure your chickens love you!

My chickens are warming up to me, I have a couple pullets that know I protect them from the older hens so they stay close to momma and sit in my lap when it's treat time. This one though.... this one does not like my antics. His face says it all... "Put me down, Karen"
