Exactly! As I crack eggs to scramble up for my girls, I see so many that have teeny embryos, so I figure, why not stick em all in tha bator and make some money for chicken feed?

Exactly. We have roosters to keep getting new chickens. They are busy all year long, not just when we want new babies. Probably 90% of our eggs are fertilized really.

Pop 'em in the bator for 16 days which costs pennies a day per egg and sell them for $0.75 per egg. I find a few duds in there, but I find very few then.

Or pop them in the cartons and sell them for $3.00 per dozen or $0.25 per egg.

Ducks are similar, it's just such an easy process. Once you find buyers, you are good to go.

Would you sell your balut cooked or not? I was reading Metzer farm and it looks like they just take the eggs out at 17 days and ship them, and their customers do the cooking. Either way, how would you preserve it so it doesn't spoil? My step mother is filipeano and I have heard of balut, but never thought of it being sold here. I have no duck nor any plans to have ducks for a long while, but I am still curious none the less

No, I wouldn't do the cooking. That would be up to the buyer. I guess I am hoping that people will contact me 3 weeks or so before they want it. Then I could pop them in the bator and 18 days later, viola. I don't know if it's practical or not, but I will see if I get any responses.

Perhaps at some point, I would have regular customers.

I don't know about chicken but duck does pretty good
my sister went to Orlando FL and bough 1/2 doz from the oriental store for $10

I'm thinking you are right, check out youtube. There are a lot of videos about Balut, and folks trying them for the first time.
