I just received my copy in the mail today. Finally (!!!) a book on geese that has details instead of vague suggestions! The shelter it shows on page 94 is exactly what I have planned, but now I have a height. Glad I didn't go ahead and cut the boards to 36"

To Enchanted Sunrise Farms - No minks or weasels here, but plenty of raccoons and coyotes. so I am attaching a 4' tall band of hardware cloth (aka "rabbit wire" here in East TN ) around the perimeter of the kennel, to keep out raccoon paws, as well as prevent the geese from getting their necks stuck.

Yeah! I wish more people would post pictures of their goose coops/houses, especially since the coop section of the BYC is more catered towards chickens. It would really be helpful. That said, dont forget to post yours when its done

AND, you're right, the "Goosey-Loosey Goose House" looks amazing! They have a good idea about the large backdoor, in case people need to get inside.

I just thought of this: what if you put an ad on craigslist for a woodworker or carpenter's services? You can ask them to give you an estimate on building something similar to the FSF model. I'm sure that if you show them what you want, they can prob build it.
