how much problem is "couldn't be housebroke"? - adopted, now pics!

Both my dogs Xena (passed, 2008) and Pygma (had) HAVE to be let outside when I came back from a trip, otherwise they were known to pixx themselves from excitement!! It's so normal when your dogs are happy to see you.

Of course, whoever was home ran to let the dog out so they wouldn't have to clean up the kitchen floor.

My cat knows what the bells are for, lol. We started with her and her sister when they were just kittens (17 years ago) The bells were actually on the outside of the door and they would bang them into the door if they wanted to come in. Was easier to hear then their little meows. Butterscotch was banging on the ones I hung for Katie wanting to go out this morning.

All I have is a small belt looped around the doorknob that I've attached jingle bells too. My last dog, Spook, wasn't one to tell you she had to go out either. She would just stand there and stare at you. First time she barked at to go out, I almost threw a party, lol. She was 3years old! Then again, she had learned that when she was in the house she was to be a "Good Puppy", outside was a whole other story, lol.

The biggest problem isn't really with Katie, but my husband. He doesn't pay attention.

"Watch her! After she plays/eats/wakes-up, she needs to go out to pee"

"Grunt"

"Watch her!"

"Grunt grunt"

"She peed on the carpet in the bedroom!"

"How'd she do that?!"

"I told you to WATCH HER!"

"Grunt"
