how much to charge for eggs?

Anyone noticed a price drop on grocery store eggs? Locally around here various stores are running sales .79 dozen

I think they are feeling the pinch of the backyard chicken craze.

I've seem them as low as .69 dozen in Birmingham, AL

Lady up the street sells for 3.50, I've sold my first three dozen for 5. Of course I go sell them. Similar eggs go from 4 to 6.30 in the nicer grocery and the same box goes for a dollar less at walmart. They have none of the highest priced so their range is from 3 to 5.

Saw 4grain for sale for under 3.

I'm still asking 5. 50cents an egg buy ten get two free.

I get 2.00 a dozen for my large brown eggs and offer a 25 cent "rebate" if they give me a carton. I can't keep enough eggs for myself.

It seems prices range greatly from place to place!

i get green/blue eggs, dark chocolate brown eggs, speckled, light brown, and white bantam eggs. i have dozen egg cartons (duh) so i put four dark, four green/blue, and four ligh brown! i don't put white because they are too small and people might feel jipped

When we first moved here there was a guy selling big brown eggs so big they wouldn't quite fit in the carton..and he was only charging 1.50 a dozen...that's less then they are in the store...but the eggs tasted weird...not bad, but not good either...like a really strange taste. Now that I have my own chicken's eggs to eat I often wonder what he was feeding his hens to make their eggs taste so strangely. We only bought the 2 dozen we got at first...none after those. Too weird tasting...I don't know if he sells the eggs so cheap because they taste weird or what...bit I figure he is probably feeding them something that isn't very good but is very cheap...
