HOW MUCH TO STARTER BUY?

I am getting six day old chicks. How much starter will I need prior to switching them over to a grower?

a 25lb sack of starter should get you through till you switch over to the grower feed.

How many chicks are you getting? I have 18 chicks. I bought a 20 lb. bag. During the first week I thought I would have plenty left over. A week later, I realize I should have bought the 50 lbs. bag. All they do is eat, sleep, eat, play, eat, drink, and eat. My chicks eat like pigs, not like birds!

Mine is starter/grower combined...comes in 25 lb. and 50 lb. bags


You will go thru 50 lbs in no time if you have more than a few chicks

Buy the 50 lb bag. You will use it. I buy a starter/grower so there is nothing to switch over to until they get to laying ration.

question i have 2 chicks and was wondering is it better to buy it by the lb. or just get the 25lb pag for them?

I bought a 50lb. bag for 5 chics. I figure if any is left over, I can mix it with the layer feed.
