How noisy are your hens in the morning?

Mine are quiet until they see me and think I should feed them.

it depends with mine - if i'm really early they are very quiet...and if i'm late and they want out - geezlouise!

i'd try getting up a tad early to let them out before the squawkin starts - might work

Mine seem to be quieter since I have the automatic door opener. They can go out and roam first thing in the morning. (Before I had the opener, I think a couple of them figured out if they sung the egg song, I would come running and let them out)

I understand you are trying to be a good neighbor. IMO though, if they aren't making noise until after 8AM, I wouldn't worry about it. I think 8 is a reasonable time to make noise. (heck my neighbor fires up the blower at 7) Now if they were doing it at 6AM, then maybe you should be concerned. Again, that's just my opinion.

I have one very noisey and obnoxious girl. (I have 7 hens and 1 roo) I think she screams because I run outside to check on them, the brat

I think she has me trained! All the others are pretty quiet until they lay an egg. I agree maybe giving them some mulch or scratch will help keep them busy for a little while.

I wish I knew but that factored in to them realizing it needs to changed. There is a peacock farm just down the road but technically in my residential zone. They also allow pigeons and doves.
