Do they lay everyday or every other?
My female Pekin Wilma lays everyday. When she is at my in laws for the weekend if we go somewhere then she sometimes will skip a day.
When managed properly (feed restriction when developing), a Pekin should lay close to 200 eggs per year.
These guys are great layers of HUGE eggs!!
My Pekin Gal lays everyday except when she's broody , little booger went broody three times this year!
Quote:okay Plum where are the pictures of your new muscovy babies?
they haven't hatched yet, she still has almost two weeks to go on the nest. I'm so excited about the new babies!!
They are listed as 125-225 eggs per year.
It's going to depend upon what strain of Pekin you have. There are strains of Pekin that have been selectively bred to be productive layers. You'd get more eggs if you happen to have that line of Pekin.
Quote:If only my ducks were that white!!!!
Quote:Please dont tell me that! Ive had enough chickens go broody this year I sure dont need my Pekin Yolk going broody.
