How often do they lay??

I just got my first egg from one of 6 cochin hens. She laid it on Saturday. Then I got the second on Monday and one everyday since.(it's Thursday, BTW.) I was expecting one every other day. Was I wrong or do I have two hens laying? How often do they lay? The eggs so far are quite small, tasty, but small. Oh, and they are fertilized! I was told my Roo was only 15 wks but he's crowing and fertilizing. I think he's older than suspected.

Mine lay almost everyday. They will occasionally skip a day. I have 6 girls and I get anywhere from 4-6 eggs a day.

mine lay about every day, my banty Jap still goes a few days with out laying,( she just started laying 2 wks ago) so you might have more than one laying.

I bet you have more than one laying. But its really hard to tell unless you catch them in the act or you get 2 eggs in one day. Or maybe you just got a really good hen.
