You are NOT alone!

If you ever get the chance to watch a series called "Grace and Favour" or "Are You Being Served? Again!", they have chickens and in at least one episode Captain Peacock trips over them. I laugh every time I see it.

Mine have manners. They see us with the treat tray and all line up in the coop waiting for us to drop the goods. Today my fiance crouched down with the treats in his hand. they stood there staring at him like "what's the deal dude, drop it!". iT WAS TOO FUNNY!

I have to make sure to let the big ones out into their run before letting the little ones out of the shed. When I let the little ones out, I have to stand behind the door as I open it to avoid the stampede.
I don't like to give them treats first thing in the morning, so I have found you can throw ANYTHING to get them running away from you to give you time to get where you need to be without tripping over the crowd.
The dog usually leaves a tennis ball outside, and I find that the best distraction. I can throw it pretty far, and they can see it.
I have to wonder what the neighbors think, though, when they see me throwing a tennis ball- and the chickens go run to fetch it. I'm convinced they call me "That Crazy Chicken Lady".

At first when I read this topic, I thought it was meant as kicking your chickens in anger. Glad no one does that. I don't think I've ever kicked any of them. Of course I only have three. But I've used my foot to shoo them when they're trying to come in the house.
