Usually about 3 times a week or so, depends on if i'm dirty or not, the Mrs. is the same way. Only wash my hair about once a week, just run some conditioner through it when I shower usually, my hair is healthier than it's ever been because of this, I used to shower and wash it every day, sometimes twice a day, it got horribly dry and brittle. Now it's all shiny and silky. I built us an outdoor shower and sometimes a quick rinse is all we need, very refreshing too outside.
We also don't shower as much because it's such a waste of water, and usually unnecessary as we don't tend to stink naturally despite the best efforts of the perfume industry to convince us otherwise. I stopped buying deodorant almost 5 years ago, and after an initial period where my body was apparently going through some sort of anti-perspirant withdrawal and I sweated and smelled a bit, it returned to normal and I only smell a little musky now and then unless i've worked up one heck of a sweat.
The few times where I do use a tiny amount of cologne now, it seems to mix better with my natural chemistry. I have had women hug me many times and remark "omg, now that's how a man is supposed to smell", so I reckon a person's body gives off some nice pheromones when it's not being assaulted by aluminum chlorohydrate ( which is known to contribute to the likelihood of breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease amongst other things) , and other harsh chemicals.
We tend not to wash our fresh veggies too much, or wash our hands, or worry about germs...did all that nonsense for years, and got sick all the time, stopped being clean-freaks and our natural immune system kicked in and haven't been to a doctor in years, I can drink the water in Mexico and eat fresh produce and never get sick now.
Old saying: " A dirty child is a healthy child". So very true, i've seen city kids with overprotective cleanliness-nut parents, and those poor kids were miserable and constantly sick with noses running all the time (which of course only re-doubles the parent's psychotic efforts to seal them off from the natural world), walked into houses so reeking of cleaning chemicals that I thought I would vomit, one case so bad the people had actually slightly poisoned themselves by inhaling chlorine fumes. yuck.
On the other hand, i've seen country kids that run barefoot all the time, dirty from head to toe, that could run a marathon (and basically do, every day in all the hours they play)and never tire, get a deep cut and in an hour the skin has already knitted back together, eat popsicles dropped in the dirt, drink soda with bugs floating in it, and never see the inside of a doctors office until it's time for a checkup.
Fear, uncertainty, paranoia, cleanliness, disease, personal hygiene=Big Busine$$ The marketing and sales industry, have taught us and our children, that we: stink, sweat too much, are dirty, are gonna get sick at any moment, and will never stand a chance at getting a boyfriend/girlfriend/date/wife/husband unless we purchase and continue to use an ungawdly amount of chemical crap and use a ton of water (which is also $old to us unless you have a well).
These are the same types of people who would also prefer you NOT raise chickens, and will try to convince you that it's dangerous and unhealthy yada yada (translation: The Tyson chicken lobbyists are forking over big cash bribes for us here at the USDA and FDA to make and enforce laws so you have to buy their products, and plus then we get to tag you with fines netting us more cash, and increase our budget of your tax dollars to hire more people to steal your chickens), some poor guy with a tiny rabbit farm just got nailed to the wall for selling a few hundred dollars worth of rabbits, the USDA attacked him with $90 grand in fines, and said if he refused to pay it, it could go as high as MILLIONS of dollars in fines.
anyhoo, getting off on a tangent here, better go now
