I am currently having my old quail evaluated at an animal hospital, and it has me wondering how old is old when it comes to the coturnix quail. I'm guessing this guy, Prince, is 3 years and 10 months old.

I brought him in cuz he got fibers wrapped around a toe. Turns out, he's got some breathing issues. His face has some crustiness. Nevermind the toe which isn't apparently saveable. They want to check if he's with infection, bactial, viral, or fungal.

I just wanted to help him with his pain.

Does anyone know what old age looks like in quail?

2 years old is getting old for a quail. Yours is almost 4 which is getting very old for a quail. I think the longest I've personally seen is 5, though I have heard of one that lived to 7, but I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy on that one.
