how old or how long?

when can you take away the heat the lamp and put the chicks in the coop with the other hens that are about 8 months old it is fall time here in sault ste marie ontario. i have the chicks in my basement right now and they are around 2 months old. thanks in advance!

Wait until they're as big as the other hens. Better yet, build a new coop!
As usual, there is no real answer.
