FINALLY!!!!

Barnevelder first egg--50.5 excruciating weeks.
Egg size: small. I can't measure it because she laid it in the run, and it got smashed.
Keep your fingers crossed for me that I didn't wait this long just to turn her into an eggeater.

Oh yes -- and silkie

Approximately 10 months. (I got her as a 4 month old in Sept.)
Egg size: tiny and bullet sized, 1.22 oz

(It's the one on the top)

Barred Rock layed her first egg at 21 weeks, My 1 GLW waited forever till 35 weeks and the other I am not sure if she had ever laid an egg and then the poor thing died. The SLW both layed same week at about 30 weeks. Now my GLW is broody and sitting on 3 eggs and a bunch of golf balls. She is soooo proud of herself! I think I didn't give her any of her own eggs.

When I was frustrated with lack of eggs, I switched them to grower game feed and they all started laying but it easily could have just been time for them to start laying and it made their poop really stinky with all the extra protein - they are all on layena now and free range.

Well I should have read through to the end! I went directly to your link/list and typed in my barred rock bantams first egg info. I hope that was okay?

She laid it last week at 18 weeks old and it was 1 3/4 inches long! She is the only br bantam I have. It is interesting to see the span of laying ages. I was looking at the EE's and there is a 16 week span!
