How old was your hen when she laid her 1st egg?

Found two eggs today that must be from beginners - one in the oyster shells and the other on the floor.
One was small and pointy and the other was a bit larger and oval. Both were a very light brown/pink.

I suspect that one was from Barred Rock 25 weeks and the other from my Buff Orp of 25 weeks (it might be from a gold brahma 28 weeks, not sure).

My BO gals just started laying this week at 25 1/2-26 weeks old. In the last two days we have gotten 3 tiny but perfect, thick shelled delicious amazingly orange yolked eggs!!

So eggcited!!!!! Sorry couldn't resist...

Bantam Cochin

First egg laid at 27 weeks of age give or take a day.
Small light brown egg, but not a fart egg

Well I have 2 Red Stars (red sex-links) That are 24 1/2 weeks and no eggs.....so I can WAAAY beat the latest age for that breed on page 1 of this thread (earliest 15, latest 20 weeks)....so, I guess I'm a winner that way, huh?

My first Buff Orpington laid on Sunday at 23 weeks and 2 days.
The egg was light brown and about 3/4 of the size of a large grocery store egg, see photo for comparison.

I guess I will quit complaining about my BA. I can't even imagine not have RSL's laying at 24.5 weeks.

Wow!

Still no word on the BA or EE's here. I will keep you posted.
