How old were you when....

30. Got a pair of hens, Coco & Vin (say it outloud) the 3rd was a roo we called senior cocky, till he got mean and then we made tamales. Coco & Vin have been rehomed and now it's just quail.

32. I had 8 guineas given to me and had to scramble to get them a place made. A month later I had chickens

A few months later I got rid of the guineas!! I LOVE chickens!!

I was about 12.
My lil bro was about 5 at the time and he walked out of TSC holding a chick

We went back to the store and ended up buying 4 more, heat light, shavings,food etc....
A few nights later one of them died and we had to replace it so... We ended up leaving TSC with 4 more chicks.

Out of that bunch I got the sweetest bantam hen. Charlotte went to town with me, came in the house, would fly up on my shoulder.
I had her for about 2 years and one day I walked outside to give her some oatmeal and she was gone. I looked for weeks and weeks and weeks for that little chicken and I never found her body.

I was 15 when i got my first 2 chicken,

Finally got chickens at 43...five of them, and EE, BR, BO, GLW, and BA, named in my signature.

I think I was around 8 or so. My mom let me buy one of those little dyed chicks. It grew up to be one of the most beautiful white leghorn roos. I carried him everywhere. He would sit on the handlebars on my bike and I would ride him all over the neighborhood. His name was Bird. I loved him dearly. Been hooked ever since.

I was 6 or 7. It was a huge rooster, named Rodney. I could barely pick him up, and he let me carry him around. My current Black Jersey Giant is named after him.
