How QUICKLY do chicks get their feathers?

What should I do about the poo sticking to the baby chicks butts

There are many different ways. Personally I stick the chicks butt under warm water and let the warm water soften it and after I get the poop off I blow dry it's little butt on the low setting with a blow dryer. When I give my birds baths for a show I blow dry them too.
