How rare is it for a rooster to fend a coon like ours

Wonderful roo you have!
I can believe it, thinking about the traits breeder want in a (sensitive subject) in a fighting type rooster the ability is there. Majority will kill off an aggressive roo in their own flock that we don't see the success of a rooster handling more powerful predators.

Pretty rare, although not surprising. In daylight and in the open a rooster has a mobility advantage. It's in the dark and / or close quarters with a raccoon he'll be dead meat.

Being human-aggressvie isn't a guarantee a rooster will also fight off predators. It depends on the roo and why he's being human-aggressive.

I have one roo that's borderline aggressive, and he's a decent protector, but the alpha rooster is pretty much neutral towards humans and by far the best protector of my three boys.

Oh wow that is impressive! Don't know how rare it is but he must be one ferocious roo!
We got him for free he had been used for game project before we bought him case they thought it was a game rooster somehow and its dad was a fighting rooster .we got one son that were keeping its a old rooster
8 years this happen 3 years it made start keeping rooster always

Nothing is a guarantee. I have several roo's across the spectrum from very personable to the little shit, ( LS doesn't go after me) but he runs off other birds fowl always picking a fight/chase. He was the one I found standing chest out in front of my turkeys when I saw a smaller Hawk pass by the cameras. That's what I was thinking about. Even I was wondering if I LS could settle down and not stress out the birds.

We have an amricana rooster Grayson that we bought but anyways it dose not have a tell anymore It manged to fend the coon off till we could shoot it

That's not a game fowl.
