Hello again, didn't know about the Florida thread. I will look into that. We are in Cocoa, Florida, which is on the east coast about midway down the state. Cape Canaveral is near here. I'm not sure what to call a blog about the adventures of our new life, but I sure have plenty of stories--some of hysterical, some are heartwarming, some are sad, and some are just plain stupid things we did. What I've learned the hard way: straight run means you don't know what sex of bird you're getting; geese can be mean, noisy, and messy; guniea hens scream like a banshee and fly like the wind; domesticated ducks (like Pekins) are puddlers and don't always like big ponds; and don't stick your hand in the nesting box when a hen is laying an egg--it messes up their karma and hurts like heck!
