She is broody again... for the 3rd time since November!

The first two times, she quit....on Day 17, both times. She has no concept of the 21 day thing so has yet to see a chick out of all that sitting. Perhaps a fricasee? Maybe Southern Fried? Or maybe a nice Coq Au Vin!

This is the Emily the last time she was broody. She is a black Plymouth Rock. We love Emmy, we really do, but this "Broody Fail" stuff has to stop!

And a full body shot of my broody mama wanna-be:

Can you let her sit until day 10, take her eggs and put them in the incubator while she is still sitting and slip the little tykes under her after hatch? Never mind, she'd still have to sit longer. How about chicks under her at day 16 or 17?

uncle rico, yes, Emily's wild trance-like glare was my avatar for awhile. I finally decided to put big Ike back up and BOOM! she's doing it again.

Ellie, my bators are dismantled and packed away and I ain't getting them back out, no way. I don't want her to have chicks, to tell the truth, but DH grabbed one of Smoky's eggs and put Emily in the broody pen under Zane's cage with the egg. If it's not fertile, then she'll just be disappointed. If it is and she quits, I may just let it go. If she gets a chick, then finally, she'll be a mama. And if she isn't a good one, I'll put her in a pot.

J/K, we love Emmy, but dang, she's a lot of trouble!
