how soon to dose with the big guns?

Hi,
I have given my sick Rhodie a dose of piperazine dihydrochloride suspecting she has worms. when can i give her the big guns of ivermectin? and should i go ahead? i am reticent because of the chemicals but she has been sick for almost two weeks. i can't be sure it's worms but i feel pretty strongly that it is. any advice much appreciated. i will go on to verm-x for the flock as they are quite healthy. do people find satisfaction with verm-x?
