I'm here all the time so they get all the goodies!! One a week I either boil or scramble 5 dozen eggs & bake the eggshells, they LOVE that!
Oatmeal ,yoguart, raisins, blk. oil sunflower seeds, sometimes grits. Oh yeah I'll go & get 500 crickets at the bait stand once a month...
I've got some mealworms growing for them too....

That's a neat basket,good idea!
I guess it's not just about the food, but the other things we do for our birds...but food is at the top of their list

I've got several girls that love to ride on my shoulder, some that DEMAND to be picked up & petted & scratched. There are a few of my hens that won't come off the roost unless I help them down...spoiled girls. It takes about 45 minutes in the morning to get everyone out & waterers out food etc..I wouldn't have it any other way,ya know..
Then there's raking the leaves up just for them & to watch how quickly they can unpile it for ya.

When I mow the grass I leave some uncut so they can enjoy some grass seeds & that's where all the bugs are hiding

My flock is currently living in my guest room!! Spoiled? Uh-Yah!
Actually, this afternoon they are moving to the sun room...twenty feet closer to the coop. Now as soon as the weather cooperates, they are getting their fuzzy heineys out there (probably another three or four weeks of spoiled indoor living before the chicks begin their priviledged life outdoors!

Mine are pretty spoiled too! I just can't help myself. They love any fresh treats I can give them and always help me when I'm changing water or cleaning the coop. My one little polish crested insist on being in my part of the coop where the feed is. She runs to the door every morning and waits for me to let her out!

Pretty darn!!LOL
They get Pizza crust, bagels, scrambled eggs, cookies, mealworms for a special treat, millet sprays from the pet shop, wild bird seeds...and whatever Obelisk can steal off my plate.

Spotted, I wish I had a house chicken

MIL won't stand for it. Well whenever we win the lottery,I'll have a place for my chics in the house for sure....

I don't own chickens now..but when I did...yes I spoiled them SOO much...probably more than anyone else in the world.

how many people do u know who kept chickens in their house which:
got milk everyday (they loved it! and in the winter it was heated)
got a bag of mcdonalds peanuts everyday..they LOVED those more than anything.
had little booties to keep their feet warm in the winter
had cute little feet jewlery
had their feet cleaned every 3 days
had their nails cleaned everyday...and beaks
was wiped with babywipes often
had free range of the whole house
would sit on the couch to watch t.v
had stockings on christmas
had a costume on halloween,
sat/sit on ur lap to drive to the cottage
owned their own mini castle
went to the beach to dig
went to the park to play on the monkey bars
slept in the owners bed when lonley
wouldnt lay their eggs until their owner was beside them to confort them and play their lulabuy

came running when their "mommy" came home

and lastly, which had little cute beds to sleep in.

so yes...all the above proves I spoiled my hens and that I'm crazy...well crazy about chickens at least

I've only had my three girls for a little over a week now but they seem to on the road to spoiledness.

They're in the livingroom where the tv is and I'm home all day with it on. Then we've noticed the past few nights that they would start chirping really loadly when we turned the tv off to go to bed. And now they're getting bigger, they're pretty loud. So last night I plugged in a small radio next to their brooder and turned it on low. That did the trick, they quieted down to their normal level of little chirps.

My DH just rolled his eyes at me.
