How the bee was made, the bee made honey

OMG. you people are crazy

I am allergic and scared to death of bees. Those pic's give me the creeps

My step-bro and I were throwing pears at each other one afternoon. I slid into a hornets nest that was on the tree. We got attacked! Ever since then, i am scared of bees

Honey bees are not like hornets.

Don't bee a afraid. Honey bees are good bees and they are the reason we have beautiful flowers and fruits and veggies.

We have honey bees in our attic, by the way...been there for several years, and we can't get rid of them, and can't find anyone to come remove them. Any ideas how to do such?

I do have flowers that attract bees. My bee balm sure is pretty. If the honey bees leave me alone, I can leave them alone.

I still spray to kill the wasps and yellow jackets.

My bees are so calm. I can stand to the side of the hive and just watch them buzz in and out. Sometimes they will buzz by me, but have never once been aggressive. I'm waiting on a queen excluder to come in so I can add a couple of supers to the hive without having the queen lay eggs through the entire hive. I was told that the first year you get bees it will be their "building" year and then after that you can start to collect the honey.

When we installed the bees in the hives we stood in the midst of thousands of flying bees and they never attacked us. It was very awesome to experience!

And I sent like 10 emails to all different appiaries to see who will have packaged bees in spring/summer of 09.

I just showed the pics to DH and he wants to give it a try!!

I am SO EXCITED! We'll probably wait until after the wedding in October, since we've already got too much on our plate right now.

So do you think spring would be a good time to start getting bees then?
