How thrifty are you?

I left our local goodwill type place (called Share and Care) a few days ago grumbling to myself "I don't know who prices this stuff......" LOL

Can someone please post pictures of a PVC feeder and a milk-jug feeder? I'm very curious about these and I can't seem to be able to visualize them.

I thought I'd try to make the 5-gal bucket feeder and waterer featured in the learning center.

I totally agree with you guys there! We go to thrift stores to get doggie blankets (since they seem to shred them often) and I found this cool looking one and they wanted $8 for it...for a freakin blanket at a thrift store!

The rabbit poop, I can totally relate to!
It costs $25 PER trashcan PER month for horse manure. Generally, you need one can per horse per month!!!

No way was I going to spend $50 on horse manure bins when I know the trash company cleans it then turns around and resells as fertilizer! So, I put an ad on Craig's List- Free horse manure! We even have a tractor to put it in the back of trucks, so people like that they don't have to shovel themselves.
We're down to one trashcan now.

Yes, I used 4 bolts to hold the botom on. It can be hung from a chain so that the hens can't scratch all the feed out and waste it.

The PVC feeder has small holes drilled in the bottom in case rain water gets in, it just passes right through.

I get Classen pickle buckets at work (they have a rubber air seal on the inside) and I think I just may have to make one of those. I have no idea how I am goi9ng to get holes that size in them though!

If you have a drill or can borrow one you can use a small hole saw or a woodboring bit both are inexpensive at a hardware store.
