Hey y’all! We have ducks (adults) and geese (babies) but I was just curious about how y’all actually get them to take in the niacin supplement. Since it’s a powder, do you have better success mixing it into their water, or sprinkling it on their food? And what kind of containers do you use for their food and drinking water?
Also, how much should I give?
Is it a “one size fits all” and the babies get as much as the adults, or do they get different amounts by age?

For my baby ducks I use nutritional yeast mixed with water. They had no trouble taking it. Mine spoil a lot of their food, so I don't put it on that. Usually, it is 10mg a day for babies or 12.5mg a day for adults.

What type of ducks?
Pekins can be prone to deficiency.
I assume you mean nutritional yeast?
Most people mix a tablespoon into a cup of food a few times a week.
Rouen and silver appleyard.
Yes, that is what I meant, I’m sorry!

Ahh, a few times a week?! I thought people did it daily! Good to know, thank you!!

What is the niacin supplement you are using? Most just sprinkle brewer's yeast or nutritional yeast on the feed at a rate of 1-2 tablespoons per cup of feed.

Some all flock feed only provide the minimum dose of niacin that ducks need. It doesn't hurt to add more, especially with ducklings.

Ugh, ours too. I can’t seem to find a container I like (or them either for that matter) to keep the food from being spoiled.

Thank you!!
