How to catch a feral chicken/red jungle fowl

There’s a wild rooster that hangs around my house it doesn’t have a home it just hangs in my yard he looks like the picture below and the bottom picture is the best one I have of him because he is super skittish.

If you have a large live trap I would sprinkle a trail of food to the trap with a pile inside.

I doubt he's a JungleFowl, but once you catch him, I could help identify.

Can you see where he roosts at night and get him then? That's the way I captured one of my roosters (who were both abandoned in the woods near my house). The other one my whole family helped by surrounding him until he got tried to escape by jumping into a tree and I pulled him down by the tail...

Finding where he roosts would be easiest. Chickens have zero night vision. You could use a red light and he would still only see complete darkness

Lure him with food in a big cage with a guillotine door. One you can manually close using a long string from a distance since he spooks easily

Feed him outside the cage and let him get used to the cage. They're more cautious than most
