How to cope - Mycoplasmosis

We recently found one hen to be showing symptoms of what many have suggested is likely Mycoplasmosis. Awaiting a call back from our vet but it's a week before they can see her, unsure of any other way to test for it here in MI.

I've read across multiple sites but am hoping for some reassurance on what life will look like now. We have a 20 hen flock. Fifteen are 1-2 years old. The other 5 were purchased as chicks from feed store 2 months ago. They spent one month isolated in garage, and have now been in a sectioned off portion of the coop for one month. Aside from this 1 hen showing symptoms, all look completely healthy and normal.

Given they all lived together, if this is MG, we must assume the whole flock has it and is asymptomatic?

Eggs are still safe and healthy, life doesn't really change except for on occasions where a hen shows symptoms? We can give garlic and ACV water to help boost immune systems. What else changes? It seems we can basically go on as normal, and just keep the flock closed. We consume most of the eggs ourselves or give to a few good friends and neighbors.

Anything else I am missing? Will attacha photo of Gertie's symptomatic eye. It is, of course, the one chicken we name that gets sick. She had bumblefoot as a chick, now this.

How have you been treating the eye?

I'd flush with saline, remove the debris, bubbles and press out the pus. Apply Terramycin eye ointment in the eye.

Hard to know if she's suffering from respiratory disease or if she was perhaps injured, she has a lot of scabs around the eye and on the comb.

Getting some testing will tell you if you are actually dealing with MG or something else.
Your state lab may be able to do the testing for you, if not, use an independent lab like Zoologix.

Most folks with MG positive flocks keep it closed and manage symptoms as they arise.
