The nearly-4-week old chicks are moving to a large cage-brooder... There is a lot of room for them to grow and run around. I want it to be fun and prepare them for living outdoors.
Any toys, cozy ideas or decorations I could add to make it fun, warm and comfortable for the babies? Please show pictures and share ideas!

A great way to stimulate growing chicks Is to take proctored field trips into the yard. Chicks absolutely love to spend time outside and will definitely be worth trying. I suggest finding a playpen to put around them so they can’t wander free.

Perches in the brooder are fun too. They’ll learn to “rule the roost” and even try sleeping there some nights.

We take them out sometimes but it's always cold here! We found a good perch we will add

I had a chick jungle gym in mine. They loved trying to roost, going through the holes, and chasing each other all through it while trying to catch the one with a piece of cucumber! I got mine at My Pet Chicken, but I think you may be able to find them elsewhere.

A good natural branch is cheap and effective. FDBCEF7E-F8CE-4B41-B311-F80DF0A71773.jpeg
