We have 4 acres but have dumb restrictions . We can have 2 livestock , 2 dogs , NO poultry. The by laws state we could have this over turned with 75 percent of the vote which would just be 3 families. But, we would have to file with the court. I don't know what that would entail or cost. Has anyone else had to fight to have chickens? I just want 4-6.
Thanks!

you would be surprised at how many people that will back you and as far as cost goes it shouldn't be very much sometimes all it takes is a few phone calls to your local reps

definately could hide some hens on 4 acres and no one would know they were there

i had 11 in a shed on a rental property for 2 years my neighbors didn't even know i had them id clean the shed at night on my off night and i had it insulated with ac in the summer and heat in the winter but i always had fresh eggs and they always said the eggs we gave them were so good

I am not sure where I should go or who to call to get it changed if our neighbors will agree. It also states dogs can't roam free and 2 of them have dogs that do. I don't want to be in hiding and our neighbors would be able to see a coop. Our back yard faces the only other 3 houses. I only want some hens no roosters. Thanks for all the advice!

call you county commissioners and find out why you cant have chickens and check to see if its a acerage thing sometimes if you have above so many acres your exempt from such stupid rules also find out if its actually a law or just some kind of a county code if its not tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine alot of the time these type of code and or laws are not even laws its just what somebody in the local government wants or dont want
