How to get husband in gear to build coop

You made me laugh! That sounds exactly like my hubby. Only he would also be afraid I would hurt myself so he would have to spend time at the hospital. He really hates hospitals (and the bills).

Do you have a brother that isn't married??? LOL. My honey doesn't like honey-do's. I do much of the building myself and know how to use all of the power tools. I probably knew how to use them before he did. I call it *when the right man for the job is a woman* :)

I like the strategy that Peter Mayle's wife used in "A Year in Provence". When the builder's on their home renovation were behind, she invited their spouses to a party she was throwing on a certain date to show off the house. The work all got done on time & with beautiful results. They had a lovely party!

Love that! and that describes me, too. I am the DIY, fix-it, do-er in the family. My husband is helpful for his brute strength sometimes but other than that, I'm running the show! He is getting very interested in the chicken project, though, so I think he will be more helpful than usual.

I just kept hatching and brooding in the house then one morning he asked when are the next ones hatching? Off to the hardware store we went to get some building materials. lol this a.m. we were outside enjoying the cool weather ans watching the chickens ans he was looking at the d'uccles ans sid "we need some more of those" hmmm how did he know I have some in the incubator and under a broody. So far I have pinted all the lumber while he worked on another project today securing the yard for the dogs. Tomorrow looks promising for digging and setting posts..Yeah!!

I like building my own stuff using the power tools and such. When it was time to build my coop I sketched out what I wanted, made a list of materials and to the hardware store I went. It took me 3 days to build my coop and run. I must admit sometimes when my hubby helps things don't turn out the way I pictured them. I also have the luxury of being a homemaker which is awesome! My hubby works full time so he deserves to rest on the weekends if that's what he wants. We do every once in awhile bicker (jokingly) over who gets to mow the lawn, that's something we both enjoy. I know, I know we are a strange couple :)

that always works. around our place every project requires some new tool he's seen and is pining after. "honey, do you think this design would work better if we had that lazer guided chop saw you were looking at?"

I'm good with it, I like all the tools.

recently it's the pipe benders... all my new shade shelters have beautifully rounded profiles.
