how to get rid of fleas naturally??

Just be sure no other pets can reach it, a dog or cat with a glue trap stuck to them is a huge, upset mess!

Cats have shown great common sense. Originally I put the traps out under wire cages (secondhand napkin baskets, etc) but cats have never shown any interest. Haven't caught any mice either.

If you ever do get a mouse, they may get interested! That's what happened to a cat I know. Mouse got stuck, cat tried to play, and trap and mouse were securely stuck to the cats face. He panicked and ran around the house, whick looked like it had been ransacked when the owners got home. The mouse was also still alive. It was not fun to remove.

THanks all for the suggestions and tips! Greatly appreciated! As for the fleas on the dog, she only had 3-4 on her saturday that we saw, after 3 flea shampoos and an application of the stuff you put between their shoulder blades from last weekend. we gave her another bath with a little dawn dishsoap and a little teatree shampoo. We thought the teatree would ease her discomfort of the allergy rash that she has. Very pink skin and constant itching. I think the teatree did help with the redness but she was still itching pretty much. DD took her to vet for an allergy shot she gets every year at this time. It's kinda wierd she only gets this in late summer into around nov. then it goes away. As for the house (which is empty) DH and DSI took up carpet and burned it. It needed replacing anyway. They vaccumed and set off more bombs, (3rd round!) They hope this takes care of them this time! Hate using all the chemicals, but we needed to get rid of them asap! We will have to do a major chemical clean-up!!!

Most of the natural solutions I have found only work on adult fleas and will only kill those already on the dog. It doesn't work for new fleas that may jump on the dog, or on juvenile fleas.

A quick tip. Even after you bathe, or etc to get rid of the fleas. I would suggest putting a flea collar in your vacuum bag. That way if you vacuum up any eggs or fleas, you wont worry about them climbing back out of the bag and getting back in the house.

Best laugh I've had from this board! I once lived in a horrible cheap city apartment that required a major investment in roach motels. I also had a cat. He got his little arm stuck down through the sticky box and tore over the whole place like a clown with one stilt. I wanted to know whether it would make him sick when I got the box free and he started to lick it, so I called the poison control center to find out what was in it. The lady who answered got all fluffed up and before I could get another word in was shrieking "How old is the child? How old is the child?" Turns out it's completely non-toxic.
