I would check into some of the bombs for fleas/ticks/roaches etc. that you can you use in the house. They might get rid of the chicken mites too.
I don't think I will be able to use a flea bomb since I have fish tanks in the house, and chinchillas, and small birds.
Also I'm not sure what type of mites they are, they are just tiny blackish colored. some look lighter in color but its really hard to tell.
thank you. I bought some all natural flea and tick powder to put down.
One is from Hummingbird Creations and it contains : DE, eucalyptus, sage, yellow dock, rosemary and fennal.
the other one is by Sentry Natural Defense flea and tick carpet powder. its ingredients are : Peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, lemon grass oil, clove oil, thyme oil, vanillin, silic acid, calcium salt, carbonic acid, monosodium salt and calcium carbonate.
I sprayed the chickens with a mite and lice bird and cage spray by Four Paws where its active ingredient is pyrethrins.
Will the carpet powders kill the mites? Also I read on a post about using tea tree oil to get rid of them. could I spray tea tree oil around my room, since it is my bedroom and I really do not want to put chemicals near it. also should I put some powder on my matress and that, I'm not sure if they mites would be there, or if they stay near the bird cages?
thank you again for the advice.
