How to get stuck hard membrane off??

I helped a duck cause it was stuck and all but one died mid hatch. He has membrane stuck to the feathers I circled. It is hard as a rock and I have no clue how to get it off.

any suggestions?

Coconut oil or any oil and let it sit on the spots then gently rub off the stuck membrane. Some will say to wash the chick, but that can end in disaster if not done correctly.

Ok. I did do lots of coconut oil. Guess I will do more. It’s hard as a rock.
