How to give liquid antibiotics

I have an injured chicken and the vet gave me antibiotics, but I am having trouble getting her to actually take them. The first day I put the liquid on bread and she ate it, but now she won't eat it anymore. (She is still eating her pellets and vegetables, though.) Can I use a syringe to feed it to her or is there the danger of it getting into her lungs? Any suggestions?

I used liquid oral wormer before and I just filled the syringe, opened the beak and pushed it in.
If she's reluctant to open her beak, tug gently on her wattles.
I would think if you don't push it in too fast, she should be fine with it.

Hold her in your lap facing away from you, or towards the side. With one hand hold her head and jaw and open them. WIth the other put the syringe as far down her throat as possible and gently and steadily, push the medicine down into her throat. Depending on the dose, you may want to give it all at once or a bit at a time. In general, I prefer 1cc (1ml) syringes for handfeeding/medicating.
