How to hook up nipples to house water supply? Pressure reducer?

Hi all

I'd like to hook up PVC with nipples in it directly to my house's water (with a backflow preventer). I figure the pressure would be too high but don't know the proper pressure range for them. Thinking maybe just hooking up a ball valve and playing with that until its right.
Any thoughts on this?
Searched around for anyone that has done this but it seems most have used buckets with toilet fill valves......probably for good reason, just haven't figured out that reason yet

Thanks in advance for any advice
Dan

They don't work under pressure. I've been told that the pressure reducer won't work and I suspect it's true, but I haven't tried it myself. I used a cooler with a float valve and plumbed my waterer into the house's water system. You can see a pic of it on my BYC page. BTW,
