It is very difficult to pick him up due to his really round size, which causes him to slip, and thus the wing flapping. It can get stressful for him and for me.
Also, yes, a broiler bird is a meat bird, and yes, they do have cardiac issues, since they grow too large, too fast. That's why I don't want to stress him by picking him up every morning and night, I'm afraid of hurting his little heart. I never wanted a broiler bird, because I know there is no possible way I could ever butcher my own birds, nor send them off to be butchered. I think of my personal chickens as pets, and I couldn't do that to him. It's so sad, because I know his death is imminent, so I want to make his short life as best as possible before it happens. I never wanted one in the first place, since I knew I couldn't do it and it may be cruel, but now that I got him, I can't just kill him.
