How to humanly euthanize baby chicks (Almost one month).

I've called all the vets in my area. Including the ones who only do cats and dogs, and they said they charge $51.00 for five baby chicks. Way to much money.

That is a good price compared to the $57 for one they charge here.

Although the reason for this thread is very sad, I have to say you all were very helpful and sensitive. I am going to bookmark this also, as I saw at least one other person is, and know if I need this (when I need this) in the future, you will all have made it a much easier decision and a far less traumatic experience. thanks!

With pigs they play the can i escape game all the time. the pen that hampshire is in is 32x16 for a single pig. Took her 2 days to wear the grass out on the fence line and within a week she had picked the whole pen bare. to train her and break the digging we used hotwires, and when that didnt work i made the whole pen hot. that got the point accrossed within a week.

For pigs you better put up about 3x the hot wires lol. Seriously pigs make the smartest dogs look dumb when it comes to escaping.. 4",8"12"18"&30" keeps our pigs in the pens. high tension 12.5g fence wire.

My backyard is fenced with those hefty cattle/hog panels around all sides & has a hotwire top & bottom around it too! Its how I keep my bird dogs, away from my birds on the other side ! I have 7 very capable Bird dogs!
