How to increase the humidity for my homemade incubator

Watching this one intently too. Just went into lockdown, and of course it's -10 degrees outside tonight. Having trouble getting the humidity up in my home made as well. Might have to start chucking wet towels in there.

Gumbii, I have been thinking about putting a vent near the fan next go around as well. I'm a little worried that the amount of fresh, and presumably cooler air, would make temp regulation more difficult.

Are you concerned about that?

Thanks for your help. I did plug some holes and left two holes open for ventilation. So far I am getting 36% humidity.

i don't think so... as long as you have the air going thru the heating element, you'll be fine... i use a temp controller, and i don't stress about that really... i know eventually, the heat will go up and the controller will turn off the bulbs... and vice versa...

yeah, that's a lot of holes man... mine only has two holes... you have like, five holes right...? some people only rely on the air that goes in thru the holes for the cables... i sealed those off because i like to think i have more control over everything...

I tried to plug all the holes but then I get condensation on the glass on top of the cooler and glass on the side of the cooler.

LOL, i dunno friend... you're plugging in the wrong holes maybe... leave on on the top... or make them all smaller somehow... with tape or something... and cover up the side ones...

I was facing this problem last month but someone give me idea to put some salt in water in incubator to increasing the humidity in incubator so please you can also put some salt in water tray.

This is an old thread, but it does not make any sense that adding salt would increase evaporation.
