How to install a light w/ timer for my chickens please!!! Help!

Hey everybody! My hens have just stopped going inside their coop at night by themselves. I figured it was the deal with their light or whatever. They have so many rules. Lol. Anyway, I want to install a light in their coop with a timer. I just don't know how to do that since we don't have electricity inside the coop, and they are about 4 feet or so away from our house. Any suggestions? Oh, and the coop is wood, and I would not be very happy if I had a fire. Thanks in advance! I appreciate any suggestions and help! Thanks everyone!

Just plug it to an extension cord - and set it and forget it. I have it set for 6am on 6pm off for my baby chicks - handles 2 outlets at different settings too.

I suggest a low voltage lighting system like lawn landscape lights. You have all the timers inside the house. then you run a low voltage cord into your coop. You can bury the wire in ground. Use the appropriate lights inside. Danger of fire is very minimal with low voltage lights.

Do you have an outdoor gfi outlet near the coop? Run an outdoor extension cord to the coop, slap a timer on it.

So I'm guessing that I use and outdoor extension cord and just hang the low voltage light in the coop? Thank you all! I will definitely try out your suggestions! Thanks again! Oh, and put a timer on it. Thanks everyone!!
