How to keep chickens out of the garden?

Hello all! Now that it is springtime, I’ve been wanting to plant some wildflower seeds in our old garden beds that are overgrown and need some TLC. I tried to do this last year, and spent hours in the hot sun toiling, making the garden livable for plants. However, this work attracted some unwanted visitors that are supposed to dig through the compost, not my wildflowers! They saw the upturned soil and me sprinkling the seeds, and naturally, they wanted to go check it out! They were pleasantly surprised with what they found, and ended up pecking every seed that I worked so hard to plant. This year, I want to give my garden some better protection while it’s still growing. Obviously, one thing i could do is put up a fence. However, fences take work to put up and are an eyesore while they’re there. I’m curious if there’s anything else I can do that’s not so labor-intensive to repel chickens from the garden. This may be wishful thinking, but I would love to hear some suggestions if there are any!

Im having the same problem. I just weeded and replenished soil in a foundation planting strip along the house about 12" wide. They have already discovered it and disturbed it. I have ordered wild flower mats, which I am quite sure they will destroy. My thought is to install chicken wire over the top of the wildflower mats which ill have to cover lightly with some soil to 'hide' it from their seed pecking. Plants can get thru, and chickens wont be able to scratch. Has anyone tried this??

I put up a small plastic lattice wall and they stay out and it looks cute, you can see it in the background

Mine get out of their 4-foot electric netting when they feel motivated. That wouldn't stop them for 2 minutes. :(

How tall is that fencing? It looks better than my rabbit fence. My girls don't hop over the rabbit fence but your's is pretty!
