How to let chicken rest?

I asked on the recipe forum but didn't get a answer so thought I'd try here. I have 2 just butchered 2 year old hens. How long should i let them rest before cooking them? I'm planning on just cooking the meat off for pot pie and making stock out of the bones. Thanks in advance!

I place them in the fridge for 3 days. On the last day I add the marinade.

Long enought to allow rigor mortis to pass. About 3-5 days.

I raise quite a few Cornish X and I like to let them rest 3 days 2 is fine but at 3 days they have all been over there rigor mortis
