How to make the "Silkie Smell" less intense

I'm generally not fussed where my chickens choose to sleep but with a silkie I would presume getting them to sleep on roosts is important so that no poo sticks to them.

Then again there is so much poo in my brooders, I don't even smell it.

The trick for me has been using efficient waterers. With bowls if they walk around in water they will just get poo stuck to themselves. Wet poo is messy and smelly.

Having the floor dry fast is important too, use bedding if things stay too damp. You can buy like eucalyptus infused hay for chickens at the right places, pine shavings and newspaper is very good too

I agree not to wash chickens. Maybe try some dog anti odor spray, that won't wash off any oils but might help with the smell.

Keep the chickens done dry - stick a hygrometer in the brooder and aim for 40% humidity, any higher and more smell will be produced.
