So I have a duck about 6 weeks old and I want to mix him with my adult ducks. The adults are one pair of Cayugas and one pair of Welsh. How do I mix them so they don’t fight? Or should I not mix them?

I wouldn't integrate until the duckling is fully feathered. But, keeping them so that they can see each other, but not touch is a good idea.

I have a corner of the bird yard sectioned off with bedding, food, water. The fence holes are large enough for everyone to stick their heads thru so everyone comes and pokes their heads in and there absolutely is fighting. The area blocked off is large enough for thd new comer to be far away enough from the fence to be untouchable too. The important part is that no one is incapable of escaping. In my personal opinion fighting is natural and necessary to establish pecking order. So I allow it to occur in as safe a manner as possible. But I’ve never introduced a lone duck, duckling or gosling.

If I needed to introduce a lone waterfowl I’d introduce them separately to my mellowest one, then have them together in the meet and greet pen.
