I don’t have a YouTube account or Vimeo account

Neither do I. You can post your own short gifs on here though as long as they are not to much data a whatever it is, sometimes have to edit them to get it to post.

max gif avatar file size is 50 kb I think, not sure about the other stuff,

What if you want to post a video that you just found on youtube? I guess it would be someone else's video... can we still use it here?

All videos found on or posted to YouTube automatically embed here when you copy and paste the YouTube URL in a comment window. When this site was reengineered, that was the most exciting product to come out of it.
