I worked as the Director of Security for an outlet shopping center, Aka, "mall" once, very nice place down near the Mexican border in San Diego.

We once had a woman come in with her HUSBAND AND KIDS with a dog, which is normal, I'd send guards to kick people with dogs out several times a day usually. Anyway, she was sitting in the food court with her family and the dog, which had its own stroller was also wearing a fricken Diaper.
As I was telling her that mall policy didn't allow for dogs, she was having her oldest order her dog it's own separate meal from the Food Court, and unless I'm mistaken in my memory, she had a bib on the dog as well. She later visited the bathroom to change the dog's diaper. Ugh. Seriously.

I just want to understand. A dog wearing a diaper is nasty, a chicken wearing an diaper and being house broken is perfectly normal. I swear! Not judging, just want to understand LOL

Great thread.

Don't think I have need to potty train any of mine, but for people who live in cities, apartments, etc, or just need to bring the chicken in the house for some reason, and don't want to buy those 'chicken diapers' this is great info.

I bring my chicks in for an hr or so at a time for special treats & petting to keep them tame. I guess u could say they have me trained. They kinda of stand up and stiffen and I know they are fixin to poop.

most people wouldnt understand why u would keep a chicken in the house. let me share my experience with u. i have about 60 chick about 6 weeks old. went out to the coupe one night to lockem in for the night. one small buff orphington ran and fell over. picked it up and its toe was bloody and hanging on by the bone. any one that has chickens knows what that means. that chick will prob get picked to death. i brought it in, finished cutting off the toe and put cornstarch on it to stop the bleeding. put it in a box with food and water.after a couple days i tried to integrate it back into the flock. the bigger chickens instantly went for the toe and made it bleeed again. i named her herbie (the love bug) from the 70s movies.. still gota work on the potty training but she follows us everywhere and goes out and helps me weed in the garden. shes very sweet and coudly hopefully when the toe heals totally we can try to get her back out with the flock. oh and what the hell is the diff between chicken and parrots they are birds..... period...... what one is cooler than the other because rich people have exotic animal that actually should b kept in the wild and we are just a bunch of god dam hill billies? anyone that has that mentallity probobly shouldnt have animals. thats like saying ur a racist. white black yellow red chicken parrot parakeet we are all humans and they are all birds. get it?
