Two days ago, I noticed that my chicken who is incubating her eggs have bruises near both sides of her eye. So yesterday night, I tried to check her, to try to know what causes the problem. I tried to take her out of her nest when I saw a lot of adult and young mites feeding on her blood near her eyes, so that she can remove them(by using her toes). She does sand bathing 3-4 times a week since she started incubating her eggs, but it doesn't prevent the mites from sucking her blood during the night. Does vetrx work if I apply it near her eyes to prevent them from going in there again. Vetrx works for scaly mites, but I am not sure if it would work for the kind of mites that feeds on her during the night. I am pretty sure that her and her nest are infested with mites. The pet store that I usually go to only sells products that can kill or prevent mites on parrots, canary buddies, etc.. Do they work on chickens too?
