You're pretty articulate, just make sure you lay out all your experience, how many year and how many times, with lots of details and failures as well as successes.

I have not used any method other than not keeping any hens that I don't want to hatch from. I'd never use lipstick anyway, no way am I going to try to explain to my wife why I'm putting lipstick on a hen's vent. Just not going to happen.

You don't tell her or try to explain it.
Just do it while she's busy then return it to her make up case before she notices.

It did! I was surprised. It got fainter every day though. By day 4 it was just some thin streaking.
